As President of the Student Council at Colegio América, I had the honor of organizing the Talent Show 2023, one of the most exciting and successful events in our annual work plan. The event ran from September 28th to November 16th and was hosted on our school campus, showcasing the extraordinary artistic talents of our students.
Goals of the Event
The Talent Show aimed to:
- Encourage artistic expression among students at Colegio América.
- Foster participation in activities organized by the Student Council as part of a holistic educational approach.
The competition included students from 3rd grade in primary school to 5th grade in high school, participating either individually or in groups. The categories were divided as follows:
- Category A: 3rd and 4th grade (Primary)
- Category B: 5th and 6th grade (Primary)
- Category C: 1st to 5th grade (Secondary)
Students competed in various genres, including singing, dancing, poetry recitation, and musical performance. Each participant submitted a video of their artistic number as part of the selection process.
An Unforgettable Event
The Talent Show 2023 was a resounding success! It was an absolute joy to see students take the stage and demonstrate their incredible talents. From musical performances to heartfelt poetry recitations, every moment was a celebration of creativity and skill.
The jury had the difficult task of choosing winners, as every performance was impressive. The school auditorium became the meeting place for the talents, abilities, and dedication of students across all grade levels.
Highlights and Winners

Category A – 3rd and 4th grade (Primary)
- Dance: Tie between Adriana Escudero (3rd A, “Marinera de Corazón”) and Doménica Jiménez (4th C, “Mix Peruano”).
- Musical Performance: Santiago Cruz (3rd C, “EGO” by Willy William).
- Poetry Recitation: Luanna Salazar (4th C, “Mi Tierra” by Darío Mejía).
Category B – 5th and 6th grade (Primary)
- Singing: Valentina Córdova (6th C, “Sway” by Michael Bublé).
- Musical Performance: Franco Mejía (6th A, “Vírgenes del Sol”).
Category C – 1st to 5th grade (Secondary)
- Dance: Andrea Rosales (4th B, “Golden Hour” by JVKE).
- Singing: Carolina Navarro (4th B, “All I Ask” by Adele).
- Musical Performance:
- Solo: Giuseppe Núñez (5th B, “Gaspard de la nuit” by Maurice Ravel).
- Group Performance: María Acosta, Rodrigo León, Álvaro Zevallos, Valeria Villanueva, Matías Quispe, and Romina Ramírez (5th grade, “Cada vez que digo Adiós” by Los Enanitos Verdes).
