On April 3rd, 2023, during our Civic Ceremony, I had the incredible honor of being sworn in as the President of the 2023 Student Council at Colegio América. This event marked a significant milestone in my journey as a student leader, with my family and fellow students in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

At Colegio América, we have always been committed to providing an education that goes beyond academic knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, communication, and history. Our focus has extended to fostering responsible citizens grounded in democratic values, promoting justice, freedom, honesty, respect, responsibility, and tolerance. These principles laid the foundation for a harmonious and socially just community.

The Student Council was a testament to this commitment. As the students’ representative body, it organized, promoted, and developed activities that included artistic, recreational, social service, entertainment, and self-discipline initiatives. It was a privilege to lead this organization and contribute to its mission.

The Student Council elections were held in late March 2023, involving students from second grade in primary school to fifth year in secondary school. The election process was conducted with discipline, order, and responsibility, reflecting the values we upheld as a school community.

Two lists of candidates competed, and I was proud to share that List 1 won, with the following members:

• Giovanni Núñez Venegas: President (4th A – Secondary)
• Gabriel Mori Bertetti: Vice President (3rd A – Secondary)
• Catalina Duffó Kardum: Vice President (6th B – Primary)

During our term, we worked hard to fulfill our responsibilities, supported by all students, teachers, and school authorities. Leading the Student Council was a challenging task, but it was also an opportunity to make a positive impact on our school community. I will always cherish the experience and the lessons it taught me.
